| Travel Checklist
Distilled from the vast knowledge and experiences of partners, staff, and thousands of Bradfield Travel global travelers, comes this handy pre-trip "To Do" list. It is an indispensable aid in helping travelers organize, manage and accomplish essential tasks in the weeks leading up to their trip. To ensure that your trip remains as hassle-free as possible, print out and follow the suggestions included in this checklist.
Six to eight weeks before departure
- Travel Arrangements and Itinerary
Book all hotel, airline and rental car arrangements and reservations through your Bradfield Travel.
- Visa and passport requirements and authorizations
Check with appropriate government agencies. Be sure to ask about whether your previous travel to certain countries will prevent you from entering your upcoming destination country. Some countries will not allow you to enter if your documents indicate travel within particular other countries.
- Insurance
Make sure your health insurance covers medical emergencies away from home. If not, look into purchasing travel insurance
- Language
Purchase a language guide for your destination country and learn commonly used words and phrases.
- Medical Inquiries
Check with your doctor about:
- Immunizations and Vacinations
Since some vaccinations must be administered over time, allow yourself six to eight weeks prior to departure.
- Health History
Obtain a complete medical history and make two photocopies.
- Recent outbreaks of disease
Become familiar with any recommended precautions and procedures.
- Medical facilities
Learn the locations and contact information about recommended facilities.
- Blood contamination
When traveling to areas of known blood contamination, doctors recommend that you carry your own supply of blood and syringes in the event of medical emergency. Your physician can advise you accordingly.
- Water contamination
Travel to parts of Africa, South America, Asia and the Middle East as well as to certain destinations in the western world sometimes require precautions about drinking water. If recommended, drink only bottled carbonated water. Avoid fresh vegetables and ice. Only eat fruit that you can peel.
- Prescriptions
Have your doctor write a letter describing your medication and the medical condition for which it is required. Consult the embassy or consulate of your destination country for any questions about the legality of bringing in and use of certain drugs. Always pack prescriptions in their original labeled containers.
One Week to One Day Before Departure
- Prescriptions
Renew prescriptions to cover your entire trip. Pack a two-day supply of your medicine in your carry on bag in case you become separated from your checked luggage.
- Tickets, boarding passes and seat assignments
Obtain in advance from your Woodside Travel Trust partner agency.
- Photocopy
Make three photocopies of all your travel documents:
- Airline tickets and boarding passes
- Passport identification page
- Driver's license
- Credit cards
- Travelers checks
- Prescriptions and medical history
- Important business documents
Leave one copy of each at home or office. Take another copy with you on your trip, but keep it in a safe place.
- Check local weather conditions and appropriate dress.
- Convert enough cash to the local currency to allow for use of phone, lavatories & cab fare.
- Pack Carry-on bag:
- Toiletries
- Sufficient prescription drugs for two or three days
- Clothing for one or two days
- Photocopies of all travel and medical related documents
- If you plan on making a lot of purchases, bring an extra bag to put your purchases in, and secure it with strong tape.
- Establish and distribute your itinerary among office associates and family.
- Label each piece of luggage, inside and out
- Use covered luggage tags
- Instead of your home address, use that of your office,
- You want to make sure that your luggage tags have the following information: name, address, and telephone number.
- Arrange for transportation to the airport
- Using an airport shuttle or having someone drive you to the airport can avoid traffic and parking delays.

- Airline Policies
- Make sure you know how far in advance you must arrive for your flight.
- Be sure to know the airline's policies on luggage and carry-on bags, advanced seat assignments, and boarding procedures.
- Check your travel documents again
Some cities have more then one airport, make sure you know which one you are departing from.
- Be sure to double check the dates and times of your flights, as well as the itinerary
